Sierra Interpreting is a San Diego-based language interpreting company that assists with on-site, telephonic and document translation services for professional industries, such as doctors, attorneys and claims managers in southern California. The business has more than 400 interpreters who speak more than 180 languages.

Problem:

Lack of automation hold back business

The company operated using a very out-of-date, time-consuming process for contacting interpreters, which included the use of four different technologies. The owner felt she was paying too many people for these tedious, manual tasks. She knew that the tasks had to be automated to save her business money. Additionally, a partner company that provides her business with many of her clients informed her that she would have to prove that her company was organized enough to handle more work. Therefore, taking advantage of modern technologies and increasing efficiency was a necessity to her business’s survival.

Bloominari took the owner’s very simple and brief description of what she wanted and turned it into a 7-page Scope of Work. We built Sierra Interpreting an elaborate, custom CRM and scheduling application for an internal employee database and scheduling system. This robust platform provides easy and seamless transmission of data to contractors, as well as automatic notification emails and SMS texts, allowing the owner to lay off two of the three employees who were previously doing the manual tasks. Bloominari created a user manual for the custom CRM and provided thorough training.
